Corporate Contracts Intern (THTBC) - Summer 2026
Sealaska is an Alaska Native regional corporation for Southeast Alaska, seeking a Corporate Contracts Intern for their Contracts Department. The intern will assist in developing tools and process improvements for contract compliance and gain hands-on experience with federal contracting regulations and internal compliance practices.

Responsibilities
Compliance Tracker Development
Build and maintain a Contracts Deliverables & Compliance Matrix (e.g., key dates for reports, insurance certificates, subcontract flow downs, wage determinations, etc.)
Assist in verifying subcontractor records for compliance with SAM.gov, SCA/CBA requirements, and small-business certifications
Process Improvement Support
Update and organize contract files to align with DCAA audit readiness standards
Support development of quick-reference guides for various items in the contract department
Cost & Pricing Support
Assist with data collection and preparation for ongoing and upcoming proposals
Document historical subcontractor pricing to support negotiation strategies
Develop a quick reference guide for Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS)
Recommend process improvements identified during the internship
Attend select negotiation meetings (with prime contractors, subcontractors, or government customers) to gain real-world exposure
Shadow contracts staff through the full lifecycle: proposal → award → modification → closeout
Deliver a final presentation with recommendations for process improvements identified during the internship
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in business management or related degree program
Interest in learning about government contracting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Comfortable communicating with internal employees and outside vendors
Must be 18 years old at time of hire
Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years)
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Previous internship or work experience
Knowledge of information systems
At least a 2.5 GPA
Strong critical thinking and research skills
Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
