ARCHITECT – SENIOR DESIGN AND TECHNICAL

They are seeking a passionate and highly creative Architect to coordinate design efforts and manage projects, focusing on volumetric steel modular buildings.

Responsibilities

Interact with and coordinate the design of our buildings with our clients, as well as our internal business development, manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams
Make frequent presentations to our developer clients and act as the primary design liaison with our clients
Oversee the design project management functions of our team
Demonstrate strong design abilities focused on space planning and creating efficient structures
Make decisions on materiality and detailing
Analyze code requirements regarding multi-family residential and commercial technical and code issues
Utilize 3D Surface Modeling platforms (McNeel Rhinoceros 6+Grasshopper preferred)
Participate in a BIM Execution Planning process and adhere to defined standards for model exchange, design authoring, drawing production, and design review within a common data environment (BIM 360 Design preferred)
Conduct BIM-based coordination, issue tracking, and quality assurance using a model checking platform (Autodesk Navisworks, Solibri Model Checker, and/or BIM 360 Coordinate preferred)
Produce BIM that is compliant with data requirements and Level of Development (LOD) expectations for a project
Creatively design, lead, and coordinate with teams from Architecture, Engineering, and Building Manufacturing departments to set architectural design standards and oversee the conceptualization and design development phases of our unique developer-centric, design-build volumetric steel building process
Lead and delegate by giving clear instructions, mentoring as required, and following up to gauge team members’ progress
Be schedule driven while maintaining focus on the overall design objective
Communicate design and constructability issues to the architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and site construction teams
Be knowledgeable with various high-rise construction systems
Be comfortable in project management software and with task tracking systems used to communicate with all other team members
Exhibit detail-oriented and strong documentation skills
Utilize strong interpersonal skills to motivate and influence the team to meet or exceed goals in a positive manner

Qualification

Required

At least 10 years of experience practicing as a licensed architect; knowledge of modular construction a plus
S. Architectural registration required, licensed
Strong design abilities focused on space planning and creating efficient structures
Ability to make decisions on materiality and detailing
Thorough knowledge of multi-family residential and commercial technical and code issues and the ability to analyze code requirements
The following capabilities with BIM software: utilizing 3D Surface Modeling platforms (McNeel Rhinoceros 6+Grasshopper preferred)
Experience participating in a BIM Execution Planning process and adhering to defined standards for model exchange, design authoring, drawing production, and design review within a common data environment (BIM 360 Design preferred); Capable of conducting BIM-based coordination, issue tracking, and quality assurance using a model checking platform (Autodesk Navisworks, Solibri Model Checker, and/or BIM 360 Coordinate preferred); Experience successfully producing BIM that is compliant with data requirements and Level of Development (LOD) expectations for a project
Demonstrated abilities to creatively design, lead, and coordinate with teams from Architecture, Engineering, and Building Manufacturing departments to set architectural design standards and oversee the conceptualization and design development phases of our unique developer-centric, design-build volumetric steel building process
