Electrical Controls Engineer II - PERM 9797
BSH Home Appliances Corporation is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer II to provide engineering services for their manufacturing engineering department. The role involves supporting production equipment, designing and maintaining electrical systems, and ensuring the efficiency and safety of production processes.
Responsibilities
Provide electrical engineering and controls engineering services supplied by the manufacturing engineering department to the assigned value stream or site
Support production equipment, operations and process
Design, install, maintain and improve efficiency of electrical hardware and of production equipment, systems, and processes as it relates to safety, quality, delivery and cost
Ensure standardization of electric controls for process and factory equipment
Develop and maintain equipment standards, which are the foundations for the procurement, manufacture, and maintenance of production equipment in terms of cost, availability, process safety, reliability, ease of use, and ability to repair equipment
Handle planning and acquisition of equipment
Work on electro-mechanical and electrical parts of the equipment through coordinated planning, design review, acquisition, and implementation of production equipment concept development and assessment, including examination, comparison, and determination of the components and technologies implemented
Incorporate optimization of existing automation systems and production equipment with the aim of increasing process safety, machine availability, or further developments
Analyse existing machines, define improvement measures and coordinate the implementation
Offer expert advice and support Electronic and Maintenance Technicians in problem situations with the aim of returning process equipment back into production while producing the highest quality product
Archive and maintain the technical documentation with the appropriate software and ensure that the manufacturing facilities and electrical maintenance groups always have the updated documents and programs available
Plan and implement modifications with fabrication and assembly equipment in coordination with the concerned departments and contractors
Prepare maintenance work to increase the service life of equipment and devices
Assist the planning departments in improving the maintainability of new machines
Travel to equipment supplier during pre-acceptance runoffs and participate in handover activities of equipment to the end-user department
Study and understand product requirements and how the electrical design of machinery can help to meet those requirements
Implement control changes where needed to meet these requirements
Act as participant, facilitator or leader of cross-functional teams
Lead as the project manager for automation and connectivity of shop floor data (IIoT) acquisition
Build the interface of machine and production areas into the MES and Enterprise System infrastructure
Layout HMI panels with integrators to determine proper configuration for all machine functions and ensure the equipment interface is user-friendly
Perform work under minimal supervision
Handle moderately complex to complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or a related field
3 years of experience as a Testing Systems Engineer, Automation Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Automation Controls Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or occupation involving a discrete manufacturing environment
Employment experience with Electrical and controls systems, circuits, components, and software (Siemens TIA portal, SEW configuration, MOVITOOL, IFM, or PNOZ)
Employment experience with Industrial robotic programming
Employment experience with PLC programming (Siemens or Allen Bradley)
Employment experience with Application programming (C++ or Visual Basic)
Employment experience with Computer Aided Design and Software (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN)
Employment experience with proper use of digital multimeters, machine vision systems (Keyence or Cognex), or high potential testers
