They are seeking a Director/Senior Director of Project Management to oversee multiple development programs, ensuring timely execution and collaboration across teams in drug development.

Responsibilities
Providing small team of PDT (project development team) PMs, providing technical mentorship and further development
Will project manage 3-5 PDTs across oncology and non-oncology areas
Drive the overall planning, execution, and delivery of assigned drug development programs from candidate nomination through early clinical trials
Support the Project Team Leader (PTL) on cross-functional Project Development Teams (PDTs), including Clinical, Regulatory, Toxicology, Pharmacology, Assay Development, CMC, Research and Strategy, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability
Provide operational and planning support to sub teams led by various functions (e.g., Clinical sub team, Reg sub team, Translational sub team)
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, milestones and risk assessments
Is responsible for PDT meeting agenda and notes
Support decision-making by ensuring team members are informed, risks are managed, and dependencies are clearly understood
Manage external collaborators, consultants, and vendors as needed to support program execution
Is onsite ≥3 days per week, particularly during PDT meetings
Qualification
Required
At least BS in life sciences and a PMP qualification; PhD highly preferred
10+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical program management, having worked in both Big Pharma and small biotech
Successful track record of growing, coaching and managing team of PMs for at least 3 years
Experience in both oncology and non-oncology biologics required. Small molecule experience in addition to biologics is a plus
Direct experience in early-stage non-oncology projects preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to learn/apply PM skills in non-oncology areas
Significant direct experience in project management of early-stage (candidate nomination through end of Phase 2) oncology biologics is mandatory
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, clinical trial design, and CMC development
Track record of collaboratively ensuring cross-functional productivity in a PDT setting and of supporting PTLs
Understanding of risk management and experience establishing mitigation strategies
Expertise in the use of modern project management tools (Gantt charts, risk logs) and technologies (Smartsheet's, Excel, PowerPoint, ThinkCell)
Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable with ambiguity and strategic changes
Preferred
Direct experience in early-stage non-oncology projects preferred, or a demonstrated willingness to learn/apply PM skills in non-oncology areas
