Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Fire Alarm / Special Hazards Designer responsible for designing fire alarm detection and special hazard systems for various construction projects.

Responsibilities

Design and layout fire alarm detection and clean agent suppression systems

Self-development and training

Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, and schematics required to support the installation of fire alarm systems

Maintain project drawing files, associate records, and documentation tracking

Timely completion and processing of required paperwork

Help improve the design department

Promote safety to the team members on their projects

Assist project estimator with project cost and change order issues

Planning, scheduling, and project management of their projects

Quality design & layout of fire alarm & releasing systems

Other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of 5 years experience in the fire alarm industry

Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other software programs

High electrical & mechanical interest

Ability to multi-task

Valid driver's license and excellent driving record

Must be organized and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills

Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required

Preferred

Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology, electrical engineering, a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience

AutoCAD experience preferred
