Responsibilities

Perform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software
Applies knowledge of low and medium-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost-effective mitigation solutions from the results and recommendations of power system studies
Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers
Perform data collection activities
Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs
Interpret new construction drawing packages
Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files
Develop and/or update equipment control schematics, one-lines, three-lines, and wiring diagrams
Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals
Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines
Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations and protection and control schematics for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training
Successfully execute small to medium-sized projects with limited oversight
Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates
Effectively communicate with other departments and customers to ensure activities are properly coordinated

Required

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school (Mechanical Engineering degrees accepted for some roles) with a focus on power systems
Ability to travel 50-60% of the time
Microsoft Office product application
Knowledge of test equipment and tool/wiring usage
Must have the ability to work independently, and accurately, and have high attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers
Strong computer skills
