Responsibilities
Drive the delivery of high-quality features for our mobile and web platforms, with a focus on consumer fintech and marketplace products
Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier engineering talent as we continue to grow
Lead and mentor a team of 5+ engineers across multiple levels, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration
Partner closely with the Director of Data Insights and Engineering, Head of Product, and Head of Engineering to set technical vision, roadmap priorities, and team objectives
Ensure engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring, are adopted and maintained across teams
Balance short-term product delivery with long-term scalability and maintainability of our Ruby on Rails, Python, and Go systems
Cultivate a strong engineering culture rooted in collaboration, ownership, and customer obsession
Qualification
Required
5+ years of engineering management experience, ideally leading product engineering teams with 5–10 direct reports
Experience building distributed systems in a startup environment
Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, plus exposure to Python or Go
Background in consumer mobile applications and consumer fintech or marketplace products
Experience scaling back end engineering teams in both startup and larger tech company environments
Strong technical leadership skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects end-to-end
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional partners, including Product, Data, and Design
