Level 1A HMAC Technician
WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in engineering, community planning, environmental, and construction services. The Level 1A HMAC Technician will be part of the Construction and Design Build Services Group, responsible for performing Quality Assurance inspections, project documentation, and contract administration while ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.

This person will perform Quality Assurance (QA) inspection as required by the State and aide guidelines and will follow WSB’s and plant inspection procedures
The ideal candidate would have a background in Concrete and/or Bituminous Plant Inspection, a working knowledge of plant operations and concrete and bituminous mix design and a background in materials properties
Develop and help lead a team of field staff, generate business and perform work to grow the business opportunities for WSB
The candidate would perform onsite or in the field inspections and observation along with any office duties, including Contract administration, record keeping, quality control, and project documentation
This will include contact with clients, residents, contractors, public agencies and private owners
Candidate must be able to read and understand contracts, plans, special provisions and documents as related to roadway and bridge construction and have a functional understanding of and/or the ability to learn contract administration software and Microsoft office software
A knowledge of the State & Federal Contract Administration processes and procedures is desired
This position, at times, will be an on-call basis, work extended hours and will require traveling throughout the State of Minnesota with overnight stays
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 2 years' experience with Concrete and Bituminous plant monitoring
A successful candidate must have the following TxDOT Technical Certifications: concrete plant I and bituminous plant I
In depth knowledge and understanding of TxDOT schedule of materials control, TxDOT Concrete plant QA workbook, Bituminous plant diary, and Independent Assurance program requirements for plant inspection's
Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to travel and stay overnight depending on project location and duration
Candidates must also hold a valid driver's license
Candidates must be willing to work in inclimate weather conditions, be on an on-call basis, and willing to work long extended hours
