Engineering Program Manager (Asia)
Caraway Home is a rapidly growing home goods brand focused on creating non-toxic kitchenware and home products. They are seeking an Engineering Program Manager in Asia to lead product development, manage supplier relationships, and ensure high-quality production standards while collaborating with teams across the globe.

Responsibilities
Lead supplier-driven NPI programs from concept through sustaining, ensuring readiness across tooling, builds, testing, and ramp
Drive day-to-day engineering build activities on-site at factories to meet Caraway’s program objectives
Support U.S.-led projects by executing locally with suppliers, escalating issues to internal and external stakeholders, and tracking deliverables
Own specific portions of the schedule including tooling, builds, validation, compliance, and quality operations
Develop and manage program plans (scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risks), ensuring alignment between Caraway internal teams and supplier partners
Support sustaining manufacturing initiatives such as packaging optimization, quality improvements, and cost reductions
Solve technical issues or pull in external resources to ensure project remains on track
Build strong working relationships with factory partners; develop detailed knowledge of supplier capabilities, processes, and constraints
Represent Caraway operations with supplier and product design teams to ensure Design-for-Excellence (DFX), manufacturability, supply chain, and testing requirements are met
Ensure line readiness for all NPI builds — including line space, layout, fixtures, equipment, staffing, and training
Travel frequently across factory locations to drive issue resolution, monitor readiness, and support build/ramp activities (50–70% travel expected)
Act as the key liaison between Caraway’s Product Development, Engineering (ME/EE/FW), Operations, Quality, and Marketing teams and our Asia suppliers
Facilitate structured, clear communication across U.S. and Asia stakeholders, synthesizing complex issues into actionable updates
Lead cross-functional Asia-based program teams (Planning, SQE, Tooling, Supply Chain, etc.) to execute against program milestones
Ensure efficient handover of programs into mass production with optimized yield and stable processes
Identify risks across technical execution, quality, and schedule — develop mitigation and contingency plans
Resolve critical path issues quickly, escalating when necessary to maintain program momentum
Maintain accountability for both internal and external partners to deliver against commitments
Qualification
Required
At least 7 years of experience in product development in the kitchen and homeware space
Expertise in metals, sustainable plastics, glass, wood, electronics, and other materials
Detail-oriented and a quick learner
Expert project manager and communicator
Ability to define tasks and prioritize workflows independently
Analytical, data-driven approach to translate complex challenges into actionable plans
Willingness to travel frequently across factory locations (50–70% travel expected)
Ability to lead supplier-driven NPI programs from concept through sustaining
Experience in managing program plans (scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risks)
Strong working relationships with factory partners
Ability to represent operations with supplier and product design teams
Experience in risk and issue management
