Watch Engineer or Fireman
Catholic Health is a member of Good Samaritan University Hospital Medical Center, a teaching hospital that cares for over 100,000 patients annually. The Watch Engineer or Fireman is responsible for tending to boilers, maintaining correct pressure and water levels, and assisting in cleaning and lubrication of equipment.

Responsibilities
Maintains basic boiler room records
Adds whatever chemicals required for boiler and fuel oil tanks
Changes gun or boiler or boilers whenever needed
Takes hourly readings on steam, oil, water, air and an all air conditioner equipment
Checks oil and grease cups on all equipment in the power house and checks water makeup tanks and hot water circulating pumps
Cleans and changes fuel oil strainers on all oil lines, front and rear of boilers
Replaces and tightens packing glands on any valve, water glass or any equipment that may be leaking
Runs diesel generator and air compressor weekly to ensure they are in good operating conditions
Works with Power Plant foreman to clean and recondition boilers for inspection
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years' experience on high pressure steam boilers
NYS Driver's License
