Senior Field Service Technician (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace is a leading provider of communications solutions to the aviation market, seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to support their Commercial Aviation and Network Services Division. The role involves installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing communication equipment while providing exceptional customer service and on-the-job training to junior technicians.

Responsibilities
You will install, maintain, test, adjust, and repair a wide range of communication equipment, such as radio and antenna systems
You will utilize test equipment as required to perform proper installation or repair
You will interact with customers, vendors, and contractors independently and professionally in support of maintenance and installation activities
You will provide on-the-job training to Associate Field Service Technicians
You will be required to provide 24/7 support, so you will be on-call after hours, on weekends and holidays. Travel will be required up to 50%
You will obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL) within 6 months of being hired
You will need to obtain and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) badging for access to certain Federally regulated areas at multiple airports. This includes Security Threat Assessment (STA) and a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and SIDA training
You will lift and carry fifty (50) pounds and climb towers and stepped poles up to fifty (50) feet in height
Qualification
Required
HS diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Must have completed a course in practical electronics at a technological school, junior college, or equivalent, or must have a minimum of two years of practical electronics experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
You will obtain an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL) within 6 months of being hired

Preferred
Active FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License (GROL)
Experience in fault isolation, restoration, and adjustment of company communications equipment
Experience analyzing system failures and identifying and restoring equipment malfunctions and failures
Experience performing testing, repair, and replacement at the component (piece part) and board level
Prior experience reading and following technical manuals/instructions and have a basic knowledge of how to read schematics and drawings
