Responsibilities
Supervises and participates in the work of crews engaged in making emergency repairs to water and sewer lines or in unclogging wastewater lines by utilizing washing or rodding processes
Supervises and participates in maintenance of water and wastewater collection systems; investigates complaints from the public; oversees routine maintenance of equipment
Confers with superiors on new or revised work methods and procedures; interprets work methods and procedures to subordinates; maintains various work and employee records
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school
Two (2) or more years of experience in maintenance, repair, and construction of water and wastewater systems
Six (6) or more months lead worker experience
A temporary wastewater collection system certificate at hire
Meeting the education and experience requirements and passing the appropriate board examination to obtain the Class II wastewater collection system operator's certificate within the renewal time period of three years as established by the state
A valid commercial Class B motor vehicle operator's license
Preferred
A valid commercial Class B motor vehicle operator's license with Tanker Endorsement
Experience working in confined spaces such as manholes, vaults, etc
Experience in the operation and maintenance of sewer service laterals and sewer mains
Experience in the operation of specialized water or wastewater equipment, including equipment such as a combination vacuum and wash truck, television inspection equipment, blower and gas detector
