Responsibilities

Manage transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards and policies
Manage the shift technicians, assign work and parts distribution
Document all aspects of work orders to the assigned transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment
Ensure accurate upgrades and/or modifications to coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs, as needed
Coach and monitor members of the work team
Other duties as required

Required

A high school diploma, GED or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a shop and team
Commercial Driving License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsements
Ability to work with operations for successful vehicle pull outs, interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
The essential functions of this position require the ability to push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise
Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.)
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
