Responsibilities

Provides a pharmacy atmosphere and excellent customer service to develop and maintain patient and employee loyalty
Welcomes partnership of management to leverage tools, reports, and processes to exceed sales goals
Leads team to meet and exceed financial goals including payroll, sales, and clinical service expectations
Leads team by modeling, coaching, and maintaining high standards in patient service
Leverages Regional Support Pharmacy Manager, Regional Support Pharmacist, and Senior Regional Support Pharmacist for personal and team development
Organizes and directs workflow
Provides professional services to customers by presenting a positive image of the pharmacy and store while leading by example
Manages pharmacy according to state, federal and company regulations to ensure compliance
Maintains clean, neat, and well-organized pharmacy
Develops and follows up on long term care (LTC) business through immediate communication and attention to the needs of the nursing homes, group homes and assisted living residences
Fosters development of the pharmacy business
Supports cross-functional teams by modeling, coaching, and maintaining high standards in patient service
Assist pharmacists in the delivery of clinical services, including but not limited to: Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM), Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and Targeted Medication Reviews (TMRs), Immunization support and documentation, Point-of-care testing (e.g., A1c, lood glucose, cholesterol, flu, strep), Remote patient monitoring, Chronic disease management initiatives
Perform administrative tasks related to clinical services, including scheduling, billing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
Conduct patient outreach for medication synchronization, adherence programs, and clinical follow-up
Gather and document patient health information to support clinical decision-making
Work collaboratively with clinical teams to accomplish clinical services in an efficient manner for patient and team
Assist patients in connecting with community resources
Assist with other clinical duties such as prior authorizations, patient messages, benefits investigations, etc
Educate patients on proper medication use, adherence strategies, and self-care practices within scope of practice
Serve as a patient advocate and ensure appropriate, reliable and consistent patient care is provided by clinical team
Coordinate with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as part of the care team
Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics related to patient care and clinical services
Address open quality gaps with patients and work collaboratively with patient towards closure of those gaps
Strong communication skills with ability to engage and build rapport with patients and healthcare providers
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
Comfortable using pharmacy technology platforms, clinical documentation systems, and data reporting tools
Consult with the clinical staff and ancillary department staff to eliminate barriers to efficient delivery of care
Participate in regular team meetings, staff meetings and quality improvement projects to improve patient care
Support pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription processing, filling, inventory management, and insurance troubleshooting when needed

Required

Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent required
Must be age 18 to work as a technician
Working knowledge of business math required
Current state certification and/or registration as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT preferred) or willingness to complete required training and certification
Strong communication skills with ability to engage and build rapport with patients and healthcare providers
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
Comfortable using pharmacy technology platforms, clinical documentation systems, and data reporting tools
Ability to read and converse fluently in English
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public in sales situations
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately
Ability to handle stressful situations and deal successfully with difficult customers
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and supervisors
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
Ability to focus on detail
Ability to recognize limits of technician and refer to pharmacist when needed
Skill in operation of the following tools and equipment; cash register, computer terminal, copy machine, credit card processing equipment, phone, and calculator
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when needed
Ability to travel occasionally to assist at other TWD locations
Good attendance and punctuality is required in order to fulfill the essential job functions
Understands correct use of the intranet time clock
Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
Has current Certification or Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy or Tech in Training Certificate or willingness to obtain
Understands laws concerning Continuing Education requirements and takes responsibility to accomplish them
Willingly aids in cross training of other employees and rotation of duties as directed by the Pharmacy manager

Preferred

Prefer one year experience in a similar position requiring leadership and clinical services knowledge
Completion of pharmacy technician school desirable
Prior community pharmacy experience strongly preferred
Willingness to receive Community Health Worker Training
