NEOGOV is seeking a part-time Reading Intervention support staff for Olene Walker Elementary in Granite School District. The role involves leading small group literacy sessions for students needing extra help, under the guidance of the literacy coach and assistant principal.

Responsibilities

Pull small groups, work with the literacy coach to get training to lead the groups, work closely with the teachers to look at students' progress, and adjust the small group according to the needs of the student

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment

New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date

Must have an SLCC Federal work-study award through SLCC's Financial Aid office

Must be able to earn a Work Study award

Must be enrolled in 6 credit hours per semester

Must work at least 10 hours and no more than 20 hours a week during the semester

Must be comfortable talking with students, staff, and faculty

Must have basic computer skills

Program Associates may create their own work schedules within available hours at their school sites

Must commit to attending an orientation and team meetings at the outset

Must be able to leave campus and access the partner site using their preferred transportation method

Ability to read, write, and speak well in English, bilingual skills a plus!

Desire to work with elementary age students from diverse backgrounds and experiences

Serve as a positive role model and mentor

Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
