Responsibilities
Process all amendments to legislation
Maintain bill files and other committee records
Proofread and distribute committee analyses and other hearing materials
Respond to inquiries from legislators, staff, and the public
Perform initial reception duties in the committee offices
Attend, organize, and prepare committee hearings
Report committee actions to the Senate Desk
Track legislation
Accept, collate, and ensure accuracy of support and opposition of legislation
Manage and post materials to the committee website
Execute key tasks using legislative software programs
Undertake other related tasks, as applicable
Coordinate with all committee staff to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality work products
Qualification
Required
Familiarity with the legislative process is required
High attention to detail
Strong work ethic
Ability to complete assigned tasks on deadline
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to manage responsibilities effectively in the legislative environment
Ability to balance multiple high-priority tasks
Exhibit maturity, good judgment, honesty, and professionalism
Preferred
Previous committee experience is preferred, but is not required
