They are seeking a Pharmacy Technician II who will assist in dispensing functions and maintain pharmaceutical dispensing for patients of all ages under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities
Demonstrated skill with office machines and computers
Demonstrates proficiency in sterile products compounding
Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner
Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner; maintain ADC cleanliness; destock expired meds from ADC
Check medication rooms and patient bins for discontinued or expired meds and return them to pharmacy
Fill/refill emergency crash carts, boxes, and kits timely and accurately
Re-package and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records
Respond appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests, and ADC stock out bulletins
Assure all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing
Stock medications into pharmacy inventory, including sterile compounding areas
Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications
Deliver medications to patient care areas
Attend to medication requests and phone calls
Perform monthly unit inspections
Prepare simple IV admixtures accurately, consistent with IV policies and procedures (USP<797> and USP<800>) and perform routine cleaning tasks and documentation
Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures
Assist in performing various duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Registered Pharmacy Technician license/certification, as required by state law
Preferred
Accredited training in sterile products preparation
IV Admixture Certification
