NEOGOV is part of the City of Monona, and they are seeking a Weekend Ice Rink Operations Assistant to ensure smooth rink operations at the RiverRink outdoor ice skating rink. The role involves maintaining a safe and clean facility while providing a positive experience for guests during weekend hours from November to March.

Responsibilities

Operate the ice resurfacing machine
Level the ice as necessary in order to maintain high-quality ice conditions
Proactively maintain the dasher board system, facility fixtures and components, and make repairs when necessary
Complete janitorial duties as assigned, including restroom cleaning, trash collection, and stocking of supplies
Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances as necessary to ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe
Complete safety checks, and clean/maintain the ice resurfacer
Sharpen skates as needed

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to work weekends
Must be reliable and punctual
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for guests
Organized, self-motivated and proactive
Ability to drive ice resurfacing equipment
Ability to use a shovel to remove snow and ice from walkways
Ability to operate a snowblower
Ability to work outdoors in cold, wind, snow, and ice conditions
Ability to lift and transport up to 40 pounds

Preferred

Prior experience with ice rink operations or Zamboni driving is desired, but training is available
