PT Advertising & Graphic Design Instructor
NEOGOV is seeking a part-time Advertising & Graphic Design Instructor at Cape Fear Community College. The instructor will provide effective instruction in various graphic design areas and ensure a safe and productive learning environment while maintaining accurate records and coordinating with other instructors.

Responsibilities
Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance
Teaching needs may be in one or more of the following areas: Typography, Computer Graphics, Design Research, Branding, Print/Publication Design, Package Design, Interactivity, UX/UI, Portfolio Design
Ensure a safe and productive teaching and working environment (classroom, lab, studio) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards where applicable
Work with Program Director and other instructors to coordinate instruction and curriculum goals
Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines
Expectations for part-time instructors in the program also include as-needed responsibilities related to training and recruiting at college, state, and federal levels
Online instruction must adhere with ADA Compliance Regulations and RSI measures (Regular Substantive interactions) in course materials and delivery
Qualification
Required
Master's degree with at least 18 hours in a graphic design, digital art, or closely related field
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or closely related field with significant industry experience
Knowledge of teaching techniques and procedures, including techniques using the internet and technology
Knowledge of current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment
Knowledge of principles of test development and administration
Ability to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, communicating with others, operating assigned equipment, and handling varied tasks simultaneously
Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment, handling varied tasks simultaneously, and bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of making sound decisions, responding to questions, and demonstrating intellectual capabilities

This position REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND/OR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS be submitted in addition to the application
Candidates are required to submit OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS for all degrees obtained prior to their first day of work or hire date
Candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master's degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States
Preferred
Experience as a generalist graphic designer with proven experience with the printing/publishing, advertising, packaging, or interactivity
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac platform
Active in the field
Teaching experience at the collegiate level
Ability to provide examples of both personal/professional work and evidence of successful student work for consideration
