Autobody Repair Technician
DeKalb County Government is looking for an Autobody Repair Technician to repair body damage to County-owned vehicles and equipment. The role involves assessing damage, estimating repair needs, and performing various repair tasks including structural, mechanical, and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities
Assesses vehicle and equipment damage; estimates time and material needed to complete repairs; updates and maintains related work orders; and coordinates with supervisor to order parts and supplies
Repairs structural and mechanical damages; straightens, repairs and aligns metal frames, unibody, and body pillars; performs glasswork; fills dents; sands and grinds surfaces; applies primer, paint, and detail features; buffs surfaces; upholstery and updates and maintains related work orders
Repairs electrical, suspension, air conditioner, and exhaust systems as needed; performs electrical repairs on damaged and broken wires, bulbs, lights, and sockets; and diagnoses and repairs air conditioner problems
Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies to complete work assignments; and operates and maintains hydraulic benders, grinders, and spray painters, and other power or motorized equipment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Vocational or technical training in automotive body repair or a related field
Two years of experience in auto body repair or automotive maintenance
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license
