TECHNICAL - MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

Niterra North America, Inc. is a leader in technology and innovation in spark plugs and oxygen sensors. The Technical Maintenance Technician will provide primary maintenance support for production lines and equipment, requiring expertise in mechanical systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing maintenance and support to production lines. Document all work through CMMS
Schedule, assign, and perform maintenance work on machinery/fabrication, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency
Assist in training and developing new Technicians to improve skills and enhance team capabilities
Participate in the installation and setup of production equipment, ensuring smooth transitions to mass production
Monitor labor costs and productivity to ensure efficient use of resources
Ensure prompt, accurate communication to management and relevant personnel regarding work progress and issues
Assist in managing spare parts inventory, including determining quantities, ordering, and inspecting incoming parts
Perform regular preventive and predictive maintenance on all production equipment to minimize downtime
Use machine shop equipment to support assigned Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives
Operate man lifts safely and in accordance with established guidelines; adhere to all company policies and safety standards
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in alignment with 5S standards
Report any abnormalities with parts or increases in part usage to management promptly
Perform other duties as assigned by management. Flexibility for overtime and shift changes as needed

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years as a Mechanic or in a similar role
Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational, planning, and administrative capabilities with a focus on multitasking and time management
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a tactful and diplomatic approach
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced, changing work conditions
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 75 lbs with assistance
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
May require certification to operate fork trucks or man lifts

Preferred

Vocational/Technical certification preferred
Basic knowledge of electrical repair is a plus
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred
