Receptionist Clerk

Responsibilities
Regular attendance is required
Greets the public
Answers phones, forward calls, and take messages as needed
Notifies personnel regarding persons arriving for their appointments
Handles all incoming and outgoing mail
Faxes documents and distributes incoming faxed documents
Conducts distribution of mail between department units
Destroys documents as requested by staff and allowed by law
Distributes pay stubs to personnel
Scans files for archiving purposes
Performs miscellaneous duties as requested by staff
Prepares miscellaneous paperwork for bookkeeping and detention
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED with 4 years experience as a secretary, bookkeeper or receptionist
At least 2 years working in an office setting with an ability to type 40 words per minute with minimal mistakes
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively to customers and to employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Valid Texas Driver's License and proof of liability coverage
Experience with phone systems and computers
Positive customer service attitude and people skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to prioritize key tasks in order to meet departmental and state deadlines
Clean criminal history
Preferred
Associate's degree in office skills and/or at least 2 years experience as a secretary, bookkeeper or receptionist
At least 1 year experience working in an office setting
Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute with minimal mistakes
