Responsibilities

Works closely with all emergency services staff

Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors

Performs aseptic surgical techniques while functioning as a surgical assistant for trauma alerts/procedures

Responsible for the proper collection of most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy, POC testing)

Performs point of care testing, and follows appropriate quality control procedures

Assists with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate including the transporting of patients throughout the facility

Required

High school diploma

Graduate of a Program in Surgical Technology

CST certification required for employees hired after October 29, 2020 or practiced surgical technology as their primary function in another healthcare facility at any time during the two-years prior to October 29, 2020

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6-months of hire

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
