They are seeking a mid-level Subsurface Utility Technician to join their Jacksonville office, responsible for underground utility flagging, utilizing advanced technologies, and ensuring safety practices.

Responsibilities
Obtain a clear understanding of ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels and their applications
Provide underground utility flagging “designation” with proficiency, utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnet equipment and other geophysical means
Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect excavation of a site
Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client
Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment or “hand dig” to verify utility characteristics
Assist with maintenance of vehicles/trucks, equipment, and work sites
Research all utilities that may be on a site prior to entering the site
Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety practices
Qualification
Required
High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
Experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus
Basic computer skills; Ability to learn and understand new software
Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required
Ability to travel (if needed)
Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project
Knowledge of equipment; Ability to set up for various types of work situations
Must be able to pass Military / Government Background checks
