Responsibilities
Performs testing and quality control procedures, operates instrumentation, prepares reagents and reports results according to established policies and procedures
Performs all testing under the supervision of a Laboratory Department Supervisor, Laboratory Manager or Lead Technologist
Communicates with nursing/physicians regarding patient results and assist in various projects as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist OR graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program
ASCP or equivalent, certified, or eligible
Certification must be achieved within 12 months after hire date
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Associate of Science in laboratory science
1 to 3 years clinical laboratory experience
