N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking a Health Care Technician I to provide direct patient care at the DHHS DSOJF Walter B Jones ADATC. The role involves managing the milieu on the unit, assisting patients with activities of daily living, and supporting the Registered Nurse in patient intakes and transportation to appointments.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care by managing the milieu on the unit through close observation and interaction with the patients

Provide support to the patients working toward the goals and objectives of their treatment

Achieve a therapeutic milieu on the unit by fostering a therapeutic environment, assisting in activities of daily living, monitoring medical, emotional, behavioral or social problems and providing the information to the Registered Nurse

Transport patients to appointments outside the medical facility

Assist the Registered Nurse with initial intakes/interviews with patients

Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation

North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (as applicable)
