Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is a strategic and trusted insurance partner providing a broad range of commercial property, casualty, and specialty insurance coverages. They are seeking an Underwriting Technician to support the underwriting team and assist in the underwriting and policy issuance processes for the Transactional Liability team, which focuses on insurance related to Mergers & Acquisitions.

Responsibilities

Capture submission and policy data and prepare reports for Underwriters
Build electronic files and ensure file integrity
Support underwriters with all activities related to account management
Coordinate policy issuance and liaise with Operations team
Correspond with brokers; follow up on outstanding information
Act as a liaison to the Operations Group

Required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Excel for data management and reporting

Strong willingness to learn
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred

1-3 years commercial insurance experience
