Controls Technician ($5K Sign On)

Mars Petcare is a leading manufacturer of pet food products, and they are seeking a Controls Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems within their plant. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge in electrical and control/programming systems and will assist in various technical tasks to ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting senior technicians with system upgrades and modifications
Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems
Perform basic repairs, inspections, and calibrations on electrical and control equipment
Support Sr. Controls Technicians with the installation and setup of new control systems and automation equipment
Help identify and resolve minor faults in control systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for control system maintenance
Follow all safety procedures and protocols when servicing control systems and electrical equipment

Required

High school diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in electrical systems, automation, and/or related fields
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and/or motor control systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Strong electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.)
Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping
Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment
Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum 8 hours/ shift)
Ability to work in a variety manufacturing environments and non-temperature-controlled rooms (hot, cold, wet, etc)
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred

Associates degree or certifications in electrical engineering, automation, or related fields
Previous manufacturing environment
