Power Systems Mfg., LLC, a Hanwha company, is seeking a Materials Lab Technician to maintain the metallurgy laboratory and conduct metallurgical testing. The role involves preparing metallographic specimens, operating lab equipment, and providing technical support across departments.

Responsibilities

Preparation of metallographic specimens in support of production, manufacturing, and field components

Operate basic Lab equipment: Polishing machines, hardness testers, cutoff wheels, mounting press etc. review samples via light microscope

Evaluate samples and generate reports based on acceptance criteria from provided specifications

Performs housekeeping activities as necessary

Maintains awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities maintaining environmental health and safety standards

Performs chemical etching of metallurgical specimens, maintain inventory of chemicals, and Hazardous waste disposal and procedures

Performs general maintenance on lab equipment

Work across departments, businesses, internally, and with customers and suppliers

Supports Manufacturing Engineering, Developmental Engineering

Other duties, as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training Matrix

Ability to use various lab test equipment and follow procedures

Coachable and focused on personal development

Preferred

Previous laboratory experience

Mechanical aptitude or industry experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
