Veterinary Technician - Intensive Care Unit
Linnaeus is looking to expand their Intensive and Critical Care Team at VCA Animal Specialty Group of Los Angeles. The role involves providing top-quality patient care to critically ill and injured pets, requiring a Registered Veterinary Technician with a strong background in emergency medicine and ICU experience.

Responsibilities
Be an advocate for the patients and provide top-quality medicine for highly critical patients on an hourly basis
Have outstanding time management and organizational skills to keep up with and maintain hourly treatments
Maintain reliability (pertaining to time and attendance) to ensure the patients have adequate care
Be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal guidance
Ability to triage and prioritize critical patients
Have excellent communication skills while always maintaining kindness, compassion, and respect
Placing and managing IVC and PICC lines
Drawing venous, arterial blood samples, and urine samples. Cystocentesis is via U/S guided only
Administering critical and life-saving fluids & medications, including boluses, CRIs, and blood products
Cross-matching, blood typing, and administering transfusions (pRBC, FFP, cryoprecipitate)
Effectively and efficiently perform all aspects of CPR (recording medications, intubating, compressions, etc.)
Inducing (if RVT), monitoring, and recovering stable and critical patients from anesthesia
Assisting with a vast array of emergency and critical treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
Manage feeding tubes, JP drains, and chest tubes
Manage sedated and comatose patients on short-term and long-term ventilators
Qualification
Required
Registered Veterinary Technician
3 years minimum in Emergency Medicine
1 year minimum ICU experience working directly with critical patients
Outstanding time management and organizational skills
Maintain reliability (pertaining to time and attendance)
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal guidance
Ability to triage and prioritize critical patients
