BMET (Biomedical Equipment Technician) - Onsite, 10-Hour Night Shift (1pm-1130pm)

Responsibilities
Performs repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment
Troubleshoots electronic circuits under minimum supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment and clinical networked systems at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation
Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electrical safety, and other tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety of complex medical equipment
Maintains an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems in assigned areas
Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions. Provides impromptu technical in-services to clinical staff when needed
Analyzes serviceability, reliability, and technical aspects of equipment
Schedules and documents work performed as directed by the department
Using Engineering methodology transfers working knowledge and understanding of electronic circuitry and medical applications from one type of instrumentation to another
Works with department management to identify and improve key skill areas necessary for career growth
Reviews and/or orders parts and materials to ensure the right items are ordered at the right time from the most effective source and that prudent stock levels are maintained
Consistent with the needs of clinical engineering and other team members, may perform other duties as required or assigned
Qualification
Required
Performs repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment
