Responsibilities

Provide back up for Lab Assistant duties

Gross, embed, and stain tissue according to designated procedures

Complete assigned workload within prescribed time limit

Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining

Maintain legible, accurate complete logs and record of testing

Distributing slides to pathologists

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment

Troubleshoot procedures and instrumentation

Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met

Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations

Maintain a clean and well-organized work area

Other duties, as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associate's degree in science or equivalent science education is required to meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing

Must be reliable

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to perform work activities in a team environment with open communication

Strong ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
