Responsibilities

Engage in processes to support clinical trials, such as development of standard operating procedures, data management, study implementation
Design and implement statistical analyses for ongoing and new research studies
Develop novel statistical methods to address complex biomedical and public health problems
Collaborate with clinical and scientific investigators to refine research questions and ensure the appropriate use of statistical techniques
Participate in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Contribute to the development of grant proposals and progress reports
Pursue independent research opportunities
Present findings at scientific conferences and departmental seminars
Mentor graduate students and/or research assistants as appropriate

Qualification

Required

Doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a relevant Public Health field
Strong background in statistical modeling, inference, and data analysis
Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Stata, R, SAS or Python
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience analyzing real-world health, clinical, or biomedical data
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment

Preferred

Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, spatial methods, machine learning, or clinical trials
Experience working on NIH-funded or other federally funded research projects
Familiarity with tools for reproducible research
Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Track record of research productivity or strong potential for producing high-quality research outputs
Familiarity with ethical considerations in research
