2+ years expSTV’s Maryland Transportation team is seeking a motivated Traffic Engineering Specialist to support traffic and roadway design projects across Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. The role involves conducting traffic operational analysis, performing transportation safety and data analysis, and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities
Conduct traffic operational analysis for roadway and intersection improvements
Perform transportation safety and data analysis
Support design and evaluation of pedestrian and bicycle facilities
Assist with traffic signal coordination and timing
Develop design concepts using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, depending on client needs
Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
2+ years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience
Familiarity with traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, or similar)
Working knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Preferred
Exposure to VISSIM, Synchro, and HCS
Experience with Maryland DOT, local county agencies, or Mid-Atlantic transportation projects
Interest in multimodal design and complete streets principles
