Design
Responsibilities
Serves as project manager and/or project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact. May have project management responsibilities on multiple projects, depending on assignment
Responsible for project schedules and the timely completion of projects
Assists in the coordination of estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
Assists in the preparation of engineering agreements for projects
Provides street and highway design engineering analysis and computations and will be the Engineer of Record on some projects
Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for various projects
May delegate and/or supervise the work of other engineers’ activities
Actively participates in supporting business development efforts, attends client and organizational meetings, and makes presentations in support of the client and projects
Visits construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per contract documents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Civil, Transportation, or Traffic Engineer program
8-20 years of transportation or traffic engineering experience
Licensed Professional Engineer, PE
Ability to manage and collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, Clients, and Administrators
Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
Preferred
Experience working on and with TDOT, county, and/or local agency projects/clients
Working experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation, CONNECT, and ORD
