The Athletic Media Company is a leading sports media organization with a large global newsroom. They are offering an internship for Summer 2026 where interns will work closely with Engineers on projects, gaining hands-on experience in engineering tasks and collaborating on code development.

Responsibilities

Work on project(s) designed by a mentor/ teammates

Collaborate with Engineers to build the project

Write clean/maintainable code

Debug/troubleshoot issues

Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and frameworks as needed

Engage in team meetings, and stand-ups

Potential opportunities to work with Product, Design and other cross-functional disciplines

Required

This role is open to current undergraduates (ideally in their junior or senior year), recent graduates, and recent boot camp graduates

Must be based in either the United States or Canada and be have the ability to work 30-40 hours per week

Experience in Javascript is highly preferred

And most importantly… bring your enthusiasm and desire to learn!

Preferred

Experience in the one or more of the following technologies would be useful, but not required: ReactJS, Apollo GraphQL, AWS (Dynamo, S3, among others), Git/GitHub, PHP

Knowledge and interest in sports is a plus, but not required

Providing a link to a side project/GitHub is optional to showcase any of your work
