Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components. They are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead upgrade and re-platforming efforts of existing software, contribute to new development, and maintain production software for manufacturing data systems.

Responsibilities

Collaborate and lead upgrade and re-platforming efforts of existing software

Contributions to new development for current software tools

Database work to include queries, stored procedures, tables, view

Fab Support

Execute updates to Sherman Data configuration communicated in Engineering Change Order (ECO) requests

Maintenance of production software

Qualification

Microsoft SQL ServerPostgreSQLC# / .NET / PythonSubversion / GitNI LabVIEWRelational database conceptsHandle prioritiesAttention to detailCommunication skillsCross-organizational collaboration

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or another engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

5-10 years of relevant experience

A self-starter with strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Ability to handle multiple priorities and short deadlines

Ability to excel in cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Deep knowledge of relational database concepts and especially Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL

Demonstrated proficiency in C# / .NET / Python software programming environment

Demonstrated experience with subversion and/or code repositories such as Tortoise SVN, Git, or Microsoft Team Foundation Server

Proficiency with NI LabVIEW (current or expired certification)

Understanding of semiconductor chip manufacturing process
