Responsibilities

Develop and maintain SQL Server database objects (tables, views, procedures, functions, triggers, indexes)
Write advanced T-SQL including dynamic SQL and JSON handling
Use defensive programming for error handling and poison message mitigation
Optimize query performance using execution plans, indexing strategies, and DMVs
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
Apply 3NF normalization and denormalization strategies
Architect Medallion data layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
Integrate authentication with Azure AD and manage service principals
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory or SSIS
Support data warehouse payloads and Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD) processing*
Create and optimize Power BI and SSRS reports*
Apply event-driven architecture within the database*
Manage data dictionaries and governance platforms*
Use schema management tools like RedGate, Apex SQL, dbForge, and Visual Studio Database Projects
Other duties as assigned

Required

5+ years SQL Server development experience (2019/2022 preferred)
Advanced T-SQL, dynamic SQL, JSON handling, and stored procedures
Strong performance tuning and query optimization skills
Experience with Service Broker, CI/CD pipelines, and Medallion architecture
Knowledge of security features: RLS, encryption, Azure AD integration
ETL/ELT expertise using ADF or SSIS; bulk operations and data validation
Power BI/SSRS reporting and capacity management
Familiarity with schema tools (RedGate, Apex SQL, dbForge, VS Database Projects)
Strong analytical mindset and configuration-driven development approach
