Start in 2026 SummerThe Caton Companies is a mid-size and growing family of companies based in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeking a summer SAFETY Intern for a 10-12 week internship. The intern will provide support to a team of Safety Professionals, coordinating safety-related activities and assisting with workplace inspections in Virginia and North Carolina.

Responsibilities
Coordinates safety-related activities with direct supervision from a Safety Professional
Performs workplace safety activities with assistance
Assists with enforcement of The Caton Companies Environment, Health, and Safety Policy
Visits and inspects, under supervision, workplaces throughout Virginia and North Carolina
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a similar field
Successfully completed sophomore level classes and above
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong attention to detail
Very task-oriented and self starter
Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Candidates must provide their own housing
Must have their own reliable personal transportation
