ACCOUNTANT - COST

Niterra North America, Inc. is a global leader in spark plug and oxygen sensor technology and quality. The Accountant - Cost will develop and maintain standard costs, analyze production costs for efficiency improvements, and provide financial insights to support operational decisions.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead
Analyze production costs and identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost savings
Reconcile COPA to the GL to ensure data accuracy
Provide backup support for fixed asset accounting functions
Review and analyze production variances, providing insights to operations and finance teams
Prepare and distribute monthly customer profitability reports
Generate monthly product line profitability reports for management review
Produce detailed profit center and cost center reporting to support operational and financial decisions
Participate in the development of annual budgets, including standard cost updates and overhead planning
Analyze and report budget-to-actual variances, highlighting key drivers and recommending corrective actions
Monitor overhead spending to ensure alignment with budget and operational goals
Maintain accurate accounting and costing views in the material master with SAP
Perform cost runs and ensure proper cost roll-ups across materials and products
Create journal entries as needed to support monthly close and cost adjustments
Adhere to all company policies and procedures which include IATF, ISO, ISMS, TISAX, QMS, J-Sox and Safety related policies

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
3 - 8 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace specifically with Microsoft Excel
Highly professional with strong tact, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adaptable to changing business needs
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure or in stressful situations
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Proficient in the use of standard office equipment and technology

Preferred

Strong working knowledge of SAP, with emphasis on Controlling module
