Responsibilities

Performing all technical aspects of Histology including embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains

Maintenance of all equipment - tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, automated stainers, and coverslipper

Filing of slides and blocks

Knowledge of LIS functions for accessioning and reporting

Handling all specimens knowledgeably by consulting with the pathologist

Qualification

Required

At least 3-4 years of experience working in either a research or histology lab

Medical Technology experience

Licensed or able to obtain a license as a Histotechnologist in the State of Florida before hire

1-2 years Experience in a Histology Lab

Research Lab Experience

Certified Histotechnician (HT)

Certified Medical Technologist (MT)
