Research Navigator
Chaminade University of Honolulu offers a collaborative learning environment and is seeking a Research Navigator to support biomedical research. Responsibilities
Supports faculty biomedical research as assigned by the Chaminade INBRE PI
Recruits, trains, supervises, and mentors undergraduate research students in biomedical project areas in collaboration with faculty supervisors
Develops and implements a collaborative undergraduate team research project (i.e., the BRITE Biomedical Research and Innovation Training Experience) on a theme specified by the Chaminade INBRE PI
Develops and implements the Pathways to Research undergraduate seminar series to recruit and engage students in research experiences
Promotes biomedical research opportunities at Chaminade through interactions with student clubs, class visits, and partnerships with activities such as the TA and STEM outreach programs
Designs, executes, analyzes, interprets, and reports on biomedical research projects to collaborating faculty
Builds technical capacity for biomedical research at Chaminade through training and utilization of advanced instrumentation, and facilitates usage of off-campus core facilities
Contributes data and administrative support towards required grant reporting, the submission of extramural funding applications, peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and posters, and deployment of evaluation instruments
Contributes tracking and participant metrics on undergraduate research to grant interim and annual reports
Qualification
Required
Ph.D in biology or related discipline with a biomedical/human health focus
Core biomedical laboratory techniques including molecular biology, cell biology, protein biochemistry, and tissue culture
Experience with advanced instrumentation such as confocal microscopy, analytics/bioassay platforms, real-time PCR, and use of core facilities for methods such as RNASeq, advanced imaging, and flow cytometry
Experience with tissue culture, including 3-dimensional organoid models
Experience with statistical analyses of biological data and presentation of data visualizations
Experience training, teaching, and supervising undergraduate trainees, including preparation of presentations for poster and conference sessions
Experience in providing research services to faculty, including planning, time management, project execution, and reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and familiarity with search engines such as NCBI and PubMed
Must have a valid Driver's License

Ph.D. with previous doctoral and post-doctoral work in the area of biomedical sciences
