Responsibilities
Lead the technical execution of commercial and school projects within the HVAC discipline
Provide expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering
Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff
Provide technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
Resolve highly complex technical issues and continuously monitor the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems
Recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and make appropriate corrections following standard procedures
Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer License (PE)
Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience
Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Proficiency with MS Office software
Preferred
Master's degree
Prior engineering consulting firm experience
Active role in a professional engineering society/organization
