Pratt & Whitney is focused on transforming the future of flight by designing and servicing advanced engines. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop propulsion technologies for military engines, specifically in the realm of embedded software and control systems.

Responsibilities

Support the Embedded Software team to meet program deliverables

Lead the software development effort for APUs and TJs

Present as needed to the Component Integration Product Team Leader (CIPTL)

Work with the technical team to resolve software defects and champion root cause investigations

Support technical, schedule, cost discussions with the CIPTL

Identify key process improvements to increase efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

5 years of Gas Turbine Aero Engine Control System design & hardware/software integration experience or 3 years with an advanced degree

U.S. Person/Green Card holder

Solid experience with C/C++ in an embedded development environment

Understanding software build processes, multiple compiler and linker configurations, library linking

Ability to utilize software debugger tools to aid in analysis and debugging of embedded software

Familiar with usage of electronic diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, programmable function generators, multimeters, etc.) and troubleshooting in a lab or test cell environment

Understanding of formal software development processes (DO-178B/C)

Usage of Configuration Management tools

Proven experience in control system software architecture, requirements, and design

Preferred

Experience with Xilinx Vitis Unified Development Environment is a plus

Experience with Texas Instruments Code Composer 3.3 & 7.4 is a plus

Background with National Instruments LabView is a plus

Experience with model based design (Cameo/SysML)

Experience with Matlab/Simulink

Experienced and comfortable with developing technical presentations

Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and desire to learn

Experience with product security for embedded targets, a plus
