Associate Professor of Clinical Practice, Internal Medicine-Nephrology
UTMB Faculty Group Practice is seeking a full-time physician to serve as the Medical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program within the Division of Nephrology. The role emphasizes high-quality clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department.

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient nephrology care, including management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and related conditions
Serve as Medical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program, with responsibilities including:
Oversight of transplant clinical operations and coordination with surgical and multidisciplinary teams
Development and implementation of protocols and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Participation in transplant selection committees and quality improvement initiatives
Engagement in transplant-related research and academic programming
Qualification
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, or quality improvement projects
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
