Certified Surgical TechnologistBLS certificationNBSTSA certificationSurgical technology trainingHospital experience

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Successful completion of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists

Must meet one of the following pathways: Hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the NBSTSA, Completed surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service, Practiced as a surgical technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, 2008, Serving as a surgical technologist in the federal government

Current BLS certification required

NBSTSA certification required

Preferred

Previous hospital experience preferred
