Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists
Must meet one of the following pathways: Hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the NBSTSA
Must meet one of the following pathways: Completed surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service
Must meet one of the following pathways: Practiced as a surgical technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, 2008
Must meet one of the following pathways: Serving as a surgical technologist in the federal government
Current BLS certification required
NBSTSA certification required
Preferred
Previous hospital experience preferred
