Responsibilities

Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam
Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS

Qualification

ARRT certificationRCIS certificationCMRT certificationBCLS certificationACLS certificationCardiovascular technologyInvasive cardiology experiencePatient care skillsAseptic technique

Required

Associate degree in applied science required OR
Completion of accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology required OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology required
ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required
RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon required
CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days required
