Hearst Magazines is a part of the Hearst Corporation, a leading media and content company. They are seeking a temporary Copywriter Editor who will be responsible for creating and refining marketing content, ensuring clarity and adherence to brand voice across various platforms.

Responsibilities

Generate clear, compelling, and engaging copy for a wide range of marketing materials, such as websites, blog posts, email campaigns, social media, print ads, and video scripts
Meticulously edit and proofread all copy for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency, ensuring the highest editorial standards are met
Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and style across all communication channels and materials
Ensure all content adheres to company-specific and external style guides (e.g., AP or Chicago style)
Perform thorough research to understand client needs, target audiences, and industry trends to inform and create relevant content
Work with and continue to refine AI prompts to produce content that you will then edit and refine
Apply search engine optimization (SEO) principles to maximize the reach and impact of web content
Work closely with marketing managers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the creative lifecycle, from initial concept to final product delivery

Required

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with meticulous attention to detail
Strong creative thinking skills and the ability to develop fresh, engaging concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and interpreting creative briefs
Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable and knowledgeable about how AI tools can be used within the content creation workflow and able to contribute to and refine those approaches within the context of the work you do
Ability to adapt writing style and tone to suit different platforms, audiences, and formats
Strong research abilities to gather information and ensure factual accuracy in content
Understanding of SEO principles and content optimization
Experience with content management systems (CMS) and other relevant digital marketing tools
A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, or a related field is often required
Proven experience as a copywriter, editor, or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and persuasive writing skills

Preferred

Experience in a marketing or agency environment is often preferred
