Responsibilities

Provide first-level help desk support for county employees, responding to technical issues via phone, email, and in-person
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
Set up, configure, and issue devices including computers, laptops, tablets, and phones to county staff
Maintain accurate inventory and perform asset tracking of all technology equipment
Assist network administrators with basic network maintenance tasks
Install, update, and maintain software applications across county departments
Create and maintain documentation for common technical issues and solutions
Provide basic training to end users on technology systems and applications
Participate in the 24/7/365 on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed
Assist with technology equipment moves, additions, and changes
Perform routine maintenance on printers, copiers, and other peripheral devices
Support county meetings and events with audio/visual technology setup as needed

Required

High school diploma or GED required
0-2 years of experience in IT support or related technical field
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals
Familiarity with basic networking concepts and troubleshooting
Understanding of help desk ticketing systems
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Detail-oriented with good organizational and documentation skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various county facilities

Preferred

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
CompTIA A+
Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals certifications
